Size Helper

KidsNshoes realizes that your busy schedule doesn’t always allow you time to take the kids shopping for shoes, don’t worry! We’ve exclusively developed this easy-to-use shoe measuring system. Now you can shop for kids’ shoes anytime you desire quickly and conveniently.

Simply follow the directions to print our measuring system on any standard 81/2 x 11 printer. Once you have printed a copy of the measuring device you are ready to measure your Children’s feet, it is that simple!!! Simply measure both of your children’s feet and mark the length and width of each foot on the printed shoe measuring sheet. It is not unusual that one foot may be larger than the other foot. If this is the case please make sure to order the larger size (if each of your feet slightly differ in size). Once you have determined your children’s shoe size, you are ready to order footwear from us. Simply input  your Child’s size in our ordering system.

Click Here to view some general width guidelines.  Below the guidelines you will find a general idea on how to measure width.

If you have any questions or comments email: kidsinfo@kidsnshoes.com or phone us TOLL FREE 1-888-540-6223.  One of our knowledgeable customer service representatives will answer all of your questions ASAP.

Please note if it seems your child is between sizes or one foot is larger than the other, you should always order the next half size greater than what your largest foot has measured. Most European shoes only come in whole sizes. We recommend that if you are measuring a ½ size you advance to the next largest whole size.

General Width Guidelines

Childrens Women's  Men's
B = Extra narrow or N
C = Narrow or N
D = Medium or M
E = Wide or W
EE = Wider W
EEE = Extra Wide or EW
A = Narrow-Slim
AA = Narrow-Slim
B = Medium
C = Wide
B = Narrow
C = Narrow
D = Medium
E = Wide
EE = Wide
EEE = Extra Wide

We have taken off the width measurement on the size ruler due to the fact that width cannot be measured by a two dimensional scale.  Width is more than just the measurement across the bottom of the foot but the entire "girth" or thickness of the foot.  The type of shoe also affects girth; some shoes have wider openings into the shoe, which allow for much more adjustability for the thickness of the foot.  Finally, today the sizing on shoes is no longer as "standard" as they used to be.  Shoes are made all over the world and the old time sizing (i.e. B, C, D, E, EE, EEE) has given way to N, M, W widths.

You will have to take a look at your child's foot and determine if it is "Lean"=narrow, "Average"= Medium or "Well-padded"=Wide.

These are approximate guidelines. Some companies are going to the N M W format while the more traditional sizing is B, C, D etc.

If your child has not shown any problems in the past with width then he or she is probably in the average width range (i.e. medium or wide).  If you have run into fit problems then we can help on determining the best size (both length and width) for your child.  One of the trickiest aspects of shoes is that the entire shoe gets bigger when you increase the size (for instance a 9 E shoe has almost the same width or circumference as a size 8 1/2 EE shoe, the length is only 1/6 of an inch longer but the shape and the way it fits the foot is different).  We do our best to match the child's foot shape into the best size and width.

Hope this helps!  We hope to eventually have small help video's to assist in showing how to fit children's feet.  We also are working to add improved search techniques to find the styles in the different widths but we have found that our email help accomplishes the task of finding styles for the hard to fit child much more effectively than a size finder since the styles are constantly changing and we have a few aces up our sleeve to find alternatives.

PS:  Once we have fitted your child successfully with a style then we have greatly improved our capability to "grow" with your child and take care of your needs for the long run.
